We handle personal information in accordance with British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and, where it applies to our activities, Canada’s federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). This policy applies to personal information we collect through our website at www.quickstoptraffic.ca, by email, by telephone, and in the course of providing traffic control and traffic-management services. It does not apply to third-party websites we may link to, which have their own privacy practices.
“Personal information” means information about an identifiable individual, such as your name, contact details, and the information you provide when requesting a quote or a crew. It does not include business contact information used solely to contact you in your professional capacity, except where the law treats it as personal information.

We collect only the personal information we need for the purposes described in this policy. The information we collect depends on how you interact with us.

- Respond to your enquiries and prepare and provide quotes;
- Schedule, dispatch, and provide traffic control and traffic-management services;
- Communicate with you about a job, including dispatch and emergency response;
- Invoice for services and maintain our business and accounting records;
- Meet documentation, safety, and audit obligations (for example, WorkSafeBC requirements);
- Operate, maintain, and improve our website; and
- Comply with applicable laws and respond to lawful requests.

We obtain your consent to collect, use, and disclose your personal information, except where the law permits or requires us to act without consent.
Consent may be express (for example, when you submit a form or agree to a service) or implied from your actions and the circumstances, such as contacting us with a request.

6. Use, disclosure, and service providers
We do not sell your personal information. We do not disclose it to third parties except as described in this policy or as permitted or required by law.

- Service providers who perform functions on our behalf (for example, website hosting, email, and IT support), who are authorized to use it only for those functions;
- Professional advisors such as accountants or legal counsel, where reasonably necessary; and
- Authorities or other parties where required or authorized by law, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.
7. Cookies and website analytics
Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to make the site function, remember your preferences, and understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. We may use analytics tools that collect technical information such as your IP address and pages viewed in aggregated or de-identified form.

To make a request, contact our Privacy Officer using the details in Section 2. We will respond within the time required by law (generally 30 days, with an extension where permitted). We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. In limited circumstances the law allows or requires us to refuse access; if we do, we will explain why.
11. Personal information outside British Columbia and Canada
Some of our service providers may store or process personal information outside British Columbia or Canada. Where that occurs, the information may be subject to the laws of the jurisdiction in which it is held, including lawful access by courts or authorities there. We take reasonable steps to ensure that any service provider handling your information provides a comparable level of protection. 12. Privacy breaches
We maintain procedures to identify and respond to privacy breaches. If a breach of security safeguards involving your personal information creates a real risk of significant harm to you, we will notify you and report to the appropriate privacy regulator as required by law, and take steps to reduce the risk of harm. We keep records of breaches as required.
13. Links to other websites
Our website may contain links to third-party sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any website you visit.
14. Children
Our website and services are directed to businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact our Privacy Officer and we will take appropriate steps.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or the law. The current version will always be posted on our website with its effective date. Material changes will take effect when posted.
